Nautilus, Titan of the Depths – Skills, and Quotes from the Devs
It appears that Nautilus will be our next addition to the League. Here is what we have learned so far:
Q – Hookshot, pulls Anchorman towards terrain, or if hits champion (any enemy?) pulls Anchorman and that enemy together, but presumably moves Anchorman less than the enemy because he’s big and heavy.
- Range – Around 1050 (Think Amumu) (This ability can’t go through terrain though unlike amumu)
- His Q can pull Champions to you, or Pull you to terrain or Towers.
W – Shield that scales with hp (Think old Shen Shield)
E – A slow that tries to keep enemies close to you unless they choose to run and get cc’d by the spikes.
R – Homing tidal burst that travels up to a maximum amount of time towards a target/until it hits the target. blows up things it hits along the way, blows up and slows on impact of actual target.
It also meant to punish the primary target much harder than the secondary ones. This means a Minor Knock up for everyone around and a Major stun for the primary target.
Passive - ?
—
All his moves have AP ratios, except his E has a Health Ratio. His AP ratios are average. (Much better than Volibear.)
Type of Champion – Tank
Lane Played in – Top or Jungle, but he has very scary ganks so recommended jungle.
Difficulty to play – Easy / Straight forward Champion.
Mana Usage – Yes this champion uses Mana.
Attack Animation – Probably Smacks people in the face with his Anchor
Will play sort of like a mix between Blitz, Amumu, and Leona but not exactly the same.
Look and Lore:
-Wields an anchor
-Is nautically inspired
-He’s not a “monster champ” (like Nasus or Renekton) or human. My guess is somewhere in between (Half human half monster).
- “He was a sailor at one point – But I’m not sure he’s a pirate per se.” -Xypherous
- My best guess (Note this is only a guess using the current information I have.) He is a Kraken/ExHuman looking champion.
- His age isn’t very certain but we do know he is “Much more Ancient than Gangplank”
- “He has a defensive steroid. But wait! A defensive steroid makes people not want to hit you. Fine by me. He’ll hit you even harder then.” -Xypherous
- “He may have a tidal spout type ability. This tidal spout may chase you. And explode things along the way. Explosions.” -Xypherous

There is a strong emphasis on timing and spacing of abilities. Specifically for his W, there’s some “strong incentive” to hit him while his shield is active, implying a Skarner-like shield that has some added benefit while active. Since it’s a situational snare, that’s my most likely guess of the secondary effect while the shield is active, that or extra damage.
He also uses weapons other than his Anchor. His anchor is specific to his Q, his E has a different weapon.

Leekkk replied on Feb 9th, 2012 at 3:04 am
Tidehunter!!!!!
Hells yeah, if he is anything remotely close to him, and so far it looks as he will be, he will be a fun champ!
name replied on Feb 9th, 2012 at 4:03 am
Leekkk did you even read the information at all before typing? im guessing you’re the typical brain-dead lol player that does nothing but ruin games for their team.
this hero is dota 2 puck + a little pudge with other rehashed skills, which is redundant because blitz is already in the game.
gg?

I want to point out this was written hours before the Champion Sneak Peek came out so some of it is wrong. Though I think I got most of it right.

I suggested that this guy’s Q mechanic should be applied to Olaf’s Q to make him a better ganker like 4 months back.
Huh.

What are you waiting for ? :(
Mettalknight replied on Feb 9th, 2012 at 8:43 am
Riot Said that the new support will be comming out before July…… so yeah…. atleast we know that He/She is comming.
Mettalknight replied on Feb 9th, 2012 at 8:13 am
Xypherous also stated that ha isn’t really like Pudge or Tidehunter. His play style is different from them, but we will have to wait and see.

RandomDude replied on Feb 10th, 2012 at 4:02 am
I hope he has parts of a blowfish! (remember the spikes mentioned on his E?)
Mettalknight replied on Feb 10th, 2012 at 6:57 am
They might not exactly be spikes…. Maybe tentacles? All I know is when people asked Xypherous if those where his skills he said yes. So it could be a bit off, just warning you that.

A while back (in another therad), Brent asked if I had any constructive tips or advice for our users. I don’t have much to offer for the other users, but since I’m heavily involved in web development on the editorial side, I can at least offer some advice to CBG’s editorial staff in the way of some questions that would go a long way to helping you identify the strengths and weaknesses of this website.* How much revenue is being generated from your website (banner ads, etc.)? Are you monetizing other areas of your online areas (e.g., e-newsletters, podcasts, videos)?* Do you sell products from your website? If so, are revenues up or down compared to previous months/years?* Are you getting regular online reports from your web team (e.g., Omniture reports)? If not, why not?* Why do visitors come to your site? Why does your site exist, and what do you offer on your website that your visitors cannot receive from the print magazine, or from other websites?* How much traffic (page views, unique visitors, total visits) are you getting on a monthly basis? * How is this traffic trending compared to last month? How is it trending compared to last year?* What is the average amount of time a visitor spends with your website? Is this amount increasing or decreasing month over month/year over year?* What was your best month in the past year/two years?* What are your most popular pages for the past month/past year? How does this compare to previous months/years?* Who are your most popular writers/columnists/contributors to the website? How often are they posting new content? Do you have a budget or payment plan that encourages/incentivizes your top contributors to write frequently? Are you actively soliciting content from new writers as well?* Do you have areas of your website that have not been updated in many months? If so, either update them or consider phasing them out. If your print columnists are not contributing to the website, offer them incentives to do so or else shut down those online areas.* Where are your visitors coming from? Are they mostly U.S. based? What percentage of your traffic comes from overseas? Do you have a strategy to attract more traffic from overseas?* Are you familiar with other websites and what features those other sites have? Do you regularly contact other editors to learn best practices, as well as strategies on how to ensure CBGxtra’s web development is made a priority within the corporate hierarchy? * What do you do better on your website than your competitors do, and vice versa?* What are your top three priorities for the website? What would you like the website to look like six months from now? Do you have sufficient resources and staffing to make those priorities a reality?
