Legends from the East is here to bring you the latest news in the South East Asian and East Asian League of Legends scene! In mid week madness, Today I bring you news about the top Taiwanese, Chinese and Korean teams and their progress in the League.

Hi and welcome to Legends from the East, I scour the League’s East to find you the juiciest of news on the Asian League of Legends Scene. Today we take a look at ggChronicle’s Worldwide Power Rankings, thank you to the good men and women of ggChronicle who have presented us with the latest power ranking.

I first would like you to take notice that the Asian teams are indeed on the rise ranking Taipei Assassins in 5th, Azubu Blaze 8th and World Elite 11th and the special mention of the Singapore Sentinels as well as Azubu Frost. After taking a look at ggChronicle’s WPR it is plesant to note that LoL teams from Asia are getting their names mentioned.

In my first article, I managed to secure an interview with the Singapore Sentinels. Now lets take a closer look at the Taipei Assassins storming the ranks.

TPA has shown true dominance in the Asian scene. They secured victory after victory in the GPL losing only once in a major upset by a very inconsistent Manila Eagles. TPA proved once again to be at the top of their game with flawless victories against the likes of World Elite in the recent GIGABYTE STARSWAR tournament . They also secured their position at the top spot of Group A in the IPL5 taiwanese qualifiers.

So exactly who are the Taipei Assassins? TPA is Taiwan’s first professional League of Legends team and has a 7 man (6 men/1 Woman) roster. Their roster includes:

Mistake (Captain) – Support
BeBe- AD Carry
Lilballz - Jungle
Toyz - AP Carry
Stanley - Top
Colalin - Substitute (Support)
NeXAbc - Subtitute (AP Carry)

Noteworthy Mentions:

Mistake played a very strong Vayne in the recent Riot World Invitational. Mistake is also the team captain and is responsible for all the calls in game. Mistake is currently top 30 in the NA server and is a force to be reckoned with.

Lilballz was a former memeber of CLG.NA and was once classmates with Bigfatjiji. He is known to be a terror with jungle Alistar pulling off suberb early game ganks and being virually unkillable late game.

Stanley is well known for playing very unconventional champions up top having played attack speed lulu as well as other uncommon champions. He enjoy’s theory crafting and is usally the last pick for TPA. Watch out for his crafty champion picks in the up and coming IPL5.

Even though TPA has yet to play against the top Korean Teams Azubu Blaze and Frost respectively, it would seem that they have a huge target on their backs being THE Asian team to beat. The coming Saturday will be the third time TPA and SGS face each other in the GPL.

Will SGS conquer the leaders and bring them that much closer to the world stage? Or will TPA reign supreme leaders of Asia? Stay tuned to find out!
