I’ve finally finished the skin. You can pick up your copy of this humanlike goth-cyborg-assassin version of Ahri here: http://leaguecraft.com/skins/6847-crestfall-raven-ahri.xhtml
And you can also pick up the 1920×1080 wallpaper here: http://blackriderrom.deviantart.com/art/Raven-Ahri-285761081
Now, for some trivia: This is the first time I actually painted character art. I wanted to try my hand at it, and I’m satisfied with the result, though it was quite a challenge for myself.
Design-wise, I tried go with the more interesting design choices – ripped cloth, cyborg “corruption” of sorts and a bunch of shiny metal objects that hopefully add to the variety.
The blade was added on a whim. I wasn’t entirely sure how it’d work out, but I think it complements the overall look well. It’s not exactly functional, given that Ahri is a ranged character, but, hey, it looks (I think) good.
And well, that’s about it. After so much time working on this project, I feel that I should probably say more, but there isn’t that much to say. While drawing the wallpaper, I noticed that this model of Ahri might also look very good using an alternate color scheme (mostly white, so perhaps I should call it a non-color scheme?), so I might implement it in the future as a mini-skin.
A small note: At the time of this post, Leaguecraft is slightly bugging out for me, and the link to the skin doesn’t always work. But perseverence pays off: It does load, eventually.
I’m back with another update! I’ve been able to make some substantial progress in the past few days.
Here’s the gist of it: I added a lot of minor details, improved several textures, and tried to go for the idea of a split between mechanized and human. I’m not quite done tinkering with the idea, however.
An additional change of note is that I’ve added a long blade of sorts as an extension of mechanical shoulder pads. While I think I’ll leave it trailing along most of the time, I intend to change her ultimate animation so it appears as if she’s slashing with it as she dashes.
At this point, I mostly want to add extra details to her legs, dress and cape. I’m still open to suggestions, so if you have any, let me know!
Here’s a short summary of the progress I’ve made on the skin.
1) Her right arm is now mechanical. I’ve also ripped her cloth a bit to better show this.
2) Recolors. Violet, dark blue and golden yellow will be the main colors of the skin.
3) Added stockings.
4) Turned her top into a semi-corset of sorts. Not yet in final form.
5) Improved the dress shape and texture.
At this point, I’m thinking of some redesigns to her arm cloth pieces. (Lots of) small extra details and fixes are on their way as well.
I still haven’t decided if I’m doing anything with her hair or not.
That’s it for this update; thanks for reading. If you have suggestions, share them!
First, a short introduction!
Cordial greetings, readers! I’m Crestfall, and I’ve been making skins for a while now. Most of my releases are part of my Raven series, which follow a dark yet generally realistic theme. I’ve recently been invited to publish on the site, so I’ll be providing you with short updates on my skins as they become relevant. Now, on to the matter at hand!
Why, and where’s it going?
I like Ahri overall, but I’m really not into the fox part, so I’m attempting to make a human version that fits in with the rest of my releases.
So far, I’m sure she’s going to have stockings and a long dress (with or without a corset), and I’m considering giving her a hat of some sort, or something ornamentative to wear on her head. Her hairstyle will remain relatively the same, though I might restyle the end of her braid.
My greatest problem at this point is thinking of a clever way to integrate plate armor here or there. Inappropriate? Perhaps. Pretty? Very likely, if done right! My current mental image resembles a combination between Pentakill Sona and Tryndamere’s outfits. I’ve also thought of mechanizing one of her arms: might be that a blend of metal and silk would go well together.
Feel free to tell me your impressions and suggestions in the comments! If I like one in particular, chances are it’ll make it into the final version of the skin.
