Amumu never thought I’d pick him (again!), so I’m here to prove him wrong. Redditor and Deviantartist deadmyth has been creating League of Legends figurines for 2 years now. His experience with toys dates back to 2008, though. Check out the Reddit thread he created for all the details on how he creates them!

While the legality of selling fan art is questionable, deadmyth does take commissions, as well as sells some premade crafts. He offers a variety of price points and art types, ranging from the figurines to acrylic paintings. The detailing on each is pretty incredible. For example, he created a mounted Caitlyn figurine that has the ground, a cupcake, and the kneeling champion ready to fire her weapon. Another figurine, Purple Caster Minion, has a fabric outfit and can be seen holding what looks like a really tiny book!

Note to deadmyth: Call me when you can do Panda Teemo!

File this under “OMG! Too cute!” Deviant Artist Yiyo-no-Shashin may end up with a pretty successful jewelry business on her hands, judging by the response from the Reddit and DeviantArt community. During the creation process for the Philosophers Stone, she used a material called cold porcelain, then applied graphite and acrylic for an older, dusty look.

While she’s not sure if she’s able to sell it, due to Riot’s copyright, there are already many people lined up to purchase one when she does. Even Riot Rara wants one! I have a feeling we may be seeing these for sale on Etsy very soon …

The world of e-sports is incredibly hard to break into. If you’re not a pro player or a caster, your options are pretty limited. Editing your latest matches or highlighting the top 5 something or other can only take you so far.

Dignitas is looking to add to their site roster for a couple of positions. If you’ve ever fancied yourself a guide writer or a quality interviewer, you should check out their job posting. While the compensation is rather vague, Sui noted that he replies to every candidate to discuss the matter.

Some of the basic qualifications required are:

  • Mature personality
  • Good English skills
  • Have good knowledge of a certain (or multiple) gaming scenes that you will be covering
  • Active & motivated people who enjoy writing

If you’re trying to get your foot in the door of e-sports, writing for sites like LoL Report and Team Dignitas are a great way to do it. Well? What are you waiting for? Go apply!

Community Spotlight: The Bewitching Hour

Halloween may have come and gone, but Nidalee cosplay is forever. In 2011, Riot Games released a limited edition skin, Bewitching Nidalee, to mark the holiday. To commemorate the skin releases, they held a contest, The Harrowing Masquerade.

Deviant Artist Kairi-i created this Bewitching Nidalee costume for the contest. I’d say she’s pretty spot on! Unfortunately, she, as well as other cosplayers, were disappointed with some of the rules of said contest.

While it was noted that costumes would be judged based on quality, likeness to the game, and creativity, it appears as if they narrowed down the entries quite a bit and then called the rest up to popular vote. Creators were already required to submit multiple pictures of their steps towards making their outfits. While the artist in this post did not win any prizes, she still did an amazing job with her cosplay. If you liked her Nidalee, check out her Frostfire Annie!

Community Spotlight: A Different Kind of Homepage

When you log into League of Legends, there are certain things you expect from the “homepage” screen of the client. You can see who is online, look at your balance, and check the latest news. Redditor GaduBear’s friend has a different perspective of this scene, though.

In his humorous MS Paint version, “League of Lagoons” has an amazing picture of Ryze, a pile of poop for his RP balance, and a Get Angry button instead of a Play button. In addition to those, he reminds himself to enable the language filter before going to ELO Hell, and chooses to ignore the text underneath the Summoner Spotlight. Check out the image above for more interesting things in the drawing. What would your custom homepage look like?

Over 4 years ago, at the age of 16, Ed Leatherman was jumping from branch to branch on a tree, when a branch broke and he fell. He landed on his neck, which paralyzed him. After some intensive physical therapy, which can be seen in a video from 2008, he can now kick your butt in LoL using only pencils! How’s that for awesome?

Going by the summoner name “i pla w pencils”, he runs a site called Standing Back Up, where he offers support to others in his situation. He recently approached CLGaming to discuss purchasing t-shirts to garner interest for his stream and site, and they put him in their stream spotlight! Whenever he reaches 200 viewers, he gives away a shirt. If you’d like to know more about Ed, check out his bio section, Pencil’s Corner.

Community Spotlight: Behind the Scenes of MLG with Dignitas

Attending gaming conventions can be pretty exciting! There are plenty of cool booths to go to, talks to hear, games to see, and sometimes you even get to meet your favorite player! Watching a stream of an event can sometimes help fill the void of not being able to go, but it just isn’t the same. They tend to focus less on the crowd interaction and more on the actual game. How dare they?

If you’re still sad you missed out on not being able to attend MLG Anaheim last weekend, fear not. Team Dignitas documented their experience with 789 (!) pictures! Now you can see images of them eating, gaming, signing autographs, and having their picture taken (so meta!) by both fans and professional photographers. All joking aside, it’s pretty cool to get a sneak peek of what goes on behind the scenes of a professional tournament, even if it’s just in pictures.

ThekawaiiOD, creator of the LoL box earrings, is back with her latest creation, Baron Nashor earrings! Created with polymer clay and a nickle-free 24k post, these bad boys were designed to appear like they’re plugs. However, if your ears are gauged, she does offer plug sizes.

In other news, how amazing is the Pulsefire Ezreal that’s coming soon? 3200 RP is quite steep for a skin. Are you getting it?
