The second Publisher Spotlight was conducted with WatchMeSC, an excellent LoL video creator and big part of this site! Here’s the Q&A interview:
LoLReport: Please give us a brief bio: where you are from and how did
you get started making LoL videos?
WatchMeSC: I am from Elk Grove Village, Illinois which is a suburb near Chicago. I started out my account surprisingly enough playing StarCraft, hence the name WatchMeSC. For a while I just did those, until I just started commentating whatever game I was playing at the time. Eventually I started getting really into LoL, and then things just all changed from there. I should change my name to WatchMeLoL really. One of the main things I noticed was the general lack of anyone doing commentaries on LoL at that time as well.
LoLReport: Could you tell us about some of your work?
WatchMeSC: Most of my work is done live. I commentate while I play so I can give the most true feeling of actually watching someone play. It’s very difficult to provide halfway decent commentary and still focus on everything you do normally. It’s also much easier to commentate a replay where you start out in lane getting dominated than it is to do live. Mainly I do commentaries of random champions that I am playing at the time. I plan on making guides in the near future, I have one i am working on now.
LoLReport: What inspires you to keep going and how do you keep
yourself motivated?
WatchMeSC: What inspires me to keep going is getting comments and likes from all my viewers. Seeing my fans in my channel when I sign onto LoL and having them want to play with me. Being able to teach people new things so the community in general become better players. I enjoy entertaining people so that helps me keep going as well. Motivation isn’t generally too hard because for me all I have to do is play a game and talk about it, so in that sense live commentaries are easier because you don’t have to do much post editing at all. I try to keep making videos from feeling like work, because who likes to work?
